Greetings to all,
I hope that this letter finds all our members, and their families, doing well!
On Tuesday March 24th 17 members, including myself, of the Hudson Valley 10-13 joined members of the National 10-13 and traveled to Albany where we met with the Organization of Retired Public Service Employees. We lobbied for support for our Medicare coverage and for the protection of our health care benefits! I wish I could say that it’s a done deal, but it is going to be a tough battle !!
Our next meeting is April 16th at 7:00 PM in Yonkers at the Bajart American Legion Post #1122 located at 840 McLean Avenue. We will be carpooling from the parking lot between Mavis Tires and Aldi’s (located at Smith St and Rt 59 in Nanuet) We will be leaving at 5:30 PM.
We will be having 2 guest speakers that evening, Marc Marino is a Disability Counselor with the NYPD PBA and Steve Wallace is a Senior Program and Education Coordinator (Retired NYPD) from Mount Sinai. Both will be speaking about World Trade Center and NYPD benefits and coverage and will be there to answer any questions you might have.
Try to make this meeting, they are very informative.
Finally, we still have some members who haven’t paid their dues for 2026, please pay as soon as you can and if you’re not sure if you paid already, please call or text us at 845-735-1013.
Take care and stay safe,
Michael Sweeney
President
